Palm Springs

Palm Springs – May 2018

Epic Highlights:

The weather

The scenery and landscaping

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Oh, it is good to be back in the desert, where the hot sunny days are endless! This trip we were driving from Northwest LA area, so we had stunning views.  As we got closer the skies turned blue and sunshine filled the sky.  The desert mountains are beautiful. I mean they are brown and ugly too but – maybe it’s the hot, dry air or how tall the mountains are or how gorgeous the landscape is or maybe it’s the plants themselves.  The cacti, palm trees, and flowers.  Whatever it is, it is spectacular!  And as hot as it is in the day, I love the cooler evenings and mornings. And don’t even get me started on the amazing restaurants in the area! It is perfect – how can you not love that?

I think part of the reason that I love Palm Springs is because one of my best friends has an epic home here and being a guest in her home is just incredible.  The infinity pool, overlooking Palm Springs – well again, how can you not love that?!  I am just so blessed to be able to completely relax, hang out at the pool, eat my breakfast by the pool and then enjoy one amazing dinner after another by the pool, with the city lights in the distance or at one of the many outstanding restaurants nearby.

A good workout, a lazy day at the pool, dinner out on the town and good friends to share the experience = the most epic day!

When I have been able to drag myself away from the pool the other best things to do are:

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway – The world’s largest rotating tram car, it travels over 2 ½ miles up over the cliffs of Chino Canyon and to the top of the Mt San Jacinto State Park.  Take a jacket – its cold at the top.  You can take pictures, stroll, hike and even eat and shop at the top but do not miss it!

Joshua Tree National Park – This is a drive outside the city but a great day trip and a great way to connect with some desert landscape.

A hike in the mountains – There are loads of popular trails on the mountains in the area

Golf - Hit the links on some of the most gorgeous golf courses ever

As we ate dinner outside tonight and watched the sunset behind the mountains and the sky turn pink and then finally dark with clear, star filled skies – you wonder if it gets any better than this - It’s epic!
